Fit Cooking Recipe: Low Sugar Berry Tart
Share
Aloha! I love this simple recipe! It's customized since you can use any type of fruit! It only takes 10 min. to prep and 30 min to bake! So simple that I taught my 11 year old daughter, Kiana Jr. to make!
Let's start Fit Baking!
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Ingredients:
- 4 cups of your favorite fruit, we used blueberries. Mixed berries are also delicious
- Optional: Sprinkle a little coconut sugar, 1/4 tsp of stevia or plain sugar if you're naughty :P
- 2 Tbs. cornstarch
Must Make Topping:
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter cut into tiny pieces (Fit Tip: I recommend using butter from healthy grass fed cows :)
Directions:
- Mix berries with (optional sugar) and cornstarch
- Divide into 4 oven-safe ramekin dishes or similar little bowls that can go in the oven
- Make the yummy topping: mix flour, brown sugar and butter with your (CLEAN) hands. Using your fingers, press and break butter and flour until it looks like lumpy sand from the beach
- Sprinkle over the berry mixture
- Put the 4 dishes on a lined baking sheet (I used foil, it makes clean up easier)
- Bake about 35-45 min until the topping is brown and crunchy, and the berries are bubbly
- Cool 5 min and serve with vanilla bean ice cream
